This seems to be my year for reading challenges! David is hosting an Africa challenge over at Siphoning off a Few Thoughts that I'm looking forward to- and it goes along well with the Expanding Horizons Challenge! Six books about Africa or by African authors in 2008 seems very doable and will be good for stretching my reading base.
Here's my current list, always subject to change:
1. So Long a Letter, by Mariama Ba
2. Long Walk to Freedom, by Nelson Mandela
3. What is the What?, by Dave Eggers
4. A Man of the People, by Chinua Achebe
5. Half of a Yellow Sun, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
6. We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will be Killed With Our Families, by Philip Gourevitch
So thanks, David- I'm excited to get started!!!
